Jacqueline M. Jenkins, a native Philadelphian who resides in Brooklyn, NY, is one of the co-founders of the Sophisticated Exchange, an online pop-up, marketplace for fashionistas to sell, swap, and buy from the closets of other fashion-forward fashionistas, designers, and celebrities. Jacqueline is also the Founder and Chief Curator of Sophisticated Curation, an online community of over 5.5k social media followers with an e-mail, blog distribution of 9k.
Through content, commerce, and community, Sophisticated Curation works to bring recognition for the often-overlooked 40 million American women over age 40 who are avid fashion consumers. She is also the producer and host of the 20-min Fashion Distraction ®, a weekly fashion talk show. Jacqueline is a fashion education professional who focuses on innovation and strategy. She is a recognized speaker and author on the business of fashion and styling for the savvy fashionista. Jacqueline is the co-author of Fashion Supply Chain Management, published by Fairchild Books.
She has also published articles for WWD, the Fashion Manuscript, and a host of academic publications. Before her leadership roles in higher education, Jacqueline spent 20 years in corporate finance and entrepreneurship. Given her love for fashion, Jacqueline was a finance and supply chain management executive with Ann Taylor, Inc. For her first break into the fashion industry, she modeled and was a Fashion Fair counterperson for the department store Abraham & Straus while in high school. Jacqueline earned her B.A. in economics from Spelman College and her MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Jacqueline is a frequent traveler to fashion destinations such as Paris, Dubai, South Africa, Los Angeles, and Miami.
